The word ephemera is derived from the Greek ephēmeros, meaning ‘lasting only a day’, and describes the things in our lives that exist, are used or enjoyed for only a short time.

Ephemera, as a brand, aims to preserve these fleeting moments of childhood by crafting keepsake items. I believe that the value of these moments lies not just in their brevity, but in the emotional connections they form. By crafting gender-neutral pieces such as growth charts, reusable birthday crowns, and keepsake boxes, I aim to capture the important moments and milestones of a lifetime. Each item is thoughtfully designed with handmade touches, ensuring they endure as meaningful mementos, celebrating the beauty of nostalgia and the stories we carry with us.

Gender-Neutral Design

In response to the growing demand for styles that transcended conventional gender norms, I developed designs that broke away from traditional gender-specific patterns, motifs, and color palettes. This approach allowed Ephemera to offer products that felt inclusive and universally appealing, resonating with a broader audience who valued diversity and individuality. By steering clear of stereotypical design choices, I aimed to craft pieces that felt timeless and adaptable, reflecting a shift toward more thoughtful, open-minded fashion and keepsakes.

Nostalgic Design

For Ephemera, I wanted to focus on the rising popularity of a mature yet playful aesthetic in children's designs. My goal was to create pieces that blended childlike nostalgia with a contemporary edge, finding harmony through an earthy yet playful, gender-neutral colour palette. By illustrating in a Naïve Art style, I intentionally simplified motifs to capture the charm and innocence that bring to mind children’s drawings.
