The idea for this folio was sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the circumstances of living in a lockdown world. I found myself reminiscing of times when travel was possible, dreaming of when we might be able to travel again. As I started looking back at hundreds of photographs taken on previous trips, I felt a sadness for lost memories. Each of these photos beautifully captured my personal travel experiences, this prompted the idea of combining different photos, collapsing the images on each other to create ‘mutant’ collages. In this way they would reflect the idea of capturing a whole experience in just one scene.
